Our first wedding of the year was a pretty special one. I've known Derek for quite some time now and when he asked Ferah and I to photograph him and his bride I was honoured. Seeing how these two light up when they're next to each other was amazing. I'm happy this is how we got to start our 2012 wedding season!

Being greeted at the door with a huge smile and a very happy groom is always a great start to our morning. Adam made sure to incorporate all of the elements he knew Kristina loved in their home, particularly the Christmas tree and her favourite chair. We left Adam in good hands with his groomsmen who seemed to create a very relaxing atmosphere for him.
Kristina was getting ready and loving every moment of getting her dress on. With her bridesmaids going in and out of the room saying "I can't watch, I'm gonna cry" and her mother saying she didn't want to stop looking at her. We knew this day was going to be an emotionally filled occasion with lots of love. Kristina added the final touches of her look by wearing the same vintage earrings her mother wore on her wedding day.

After some cocktails and bearing the cold weather we headed to Ciocarro and yet again mesmerized by the beautiful decor by Elegance By Design. The evening went by with lots of love and laugher. Congratulations to you both!

I find it exciting to not know exactly what a location looks like and surprised the day of the wedding. It seems to inspire me more. Perhaps it's the anticipation.
We headed up to London, Ontario on a gorgeous fall weekend to photograph Roseann and Wojtek's wedding. We were in awe of the grand scale of the St. Peters Cathedral and swept away by the amazing colours mother nature provided at Victoria Park. These were some of just a few great moments we captured. Congrats guys!

We're very familiar with Macedonian weddings, having done a few of them over the years we know what to expect and we always look forward to them! They are long days filled with dancing, music, drinking, singing and some more drinking (not in any particular order). The distinct feature of Macedonian weddings is that the bride and the groom travel to the church together. The groom’s family visits the bride’s family first. There, they are meant to “buy” the bride, after a good dose of price negotiations. This time around, the groom’s family or 'representatives' came well prepared – they had an endless supply of "Slevo" and cash to match.
The wedding ceremony took place at St. Nicolas Macedonian Church. From there, we went to Sprucewood Winery and headed back for the wedding reception at the St. Nicolas Macedonian Hall. What a fantastic day it was!
Sanela & Nik are an awesome and gorgeous couple to work with. Thank you both for having us be a part of your day!

The weather was calling for rain but on this morning there was a cool breeze in the air and the sun was peaking out from the clouds. As Derek was getting ready he felt as if he was in a dream state "was all of this really happening today?". Over at Veronica's excitement was exuding through here. She couldn't wait to marry her best friend.
Sacred Heart Church in Lasalle had this amazing light almost purposely put there to shine on the couple. As soon as they exited the church with an enormous applause they couldn't stay away from each other. Sentimental moments at the fire station followed by some beautiful moments in the park. The night was capped off by Derek thanking his in laws for brining his dream girl into the world, and Veronica saying that she couldn't wait to see what else life had in store form them.

We photographed Denis & Emily's engagement pictures at a horse farm right next door to Emily's Aunts beautiful home. The place was awesome and the horses were some of the most beautiful ones I've seen. This particular young horse we used was kind of shy and seemed like it wasn't sure of what all this equipment was. We managed to get him distracted with some "delicious" grass and he was ok with having his photo taken. We had free reign of Emily's Aunts home. The wide open field, swans in their own pond, these made for some sweet backgrounds.

I've known Richelle & Lyndon for quite some time now, when they told me they were getting married I knew immediately we were in for a great time since they loved to party. That was exactly how the night ended on their day and we couldn’t have had more fun. Richelle & Lyndon danced the night away to some great music making sure that their guests had all their glasses full and were enjoying the night just as much as they were!

We also had two e-sessions with the couple along with their adorable son Lex. We had to keep these images a secret for awhile, they decided to collaborate with us to make some unique wedding invitations quoting "No matter the season, our love is the reason."

We had the pleasure to be a part of Francesca and Joe's wedding, which has been called the royal wedding of the area and it was just that. Over looking no detail these two planned out a day that was spectacular. Everything went smoothly and we couldn't help but notice the amount of smiling people that surrounded these two.
Everyone looked stunning especially Francesca in her Kenneth Pool wedding gown. It certainly was inspiring and we couldn't wait to capture these two together enjoying their once in a life time moments.
After the emotional ceremony we headed over to the elegantly decorated hall. These two along with Elegance by Design paid attention to every detail. You couldn't help but say "wow" once you entered and knew that you in for a great night!
It truly was a beautiful event and we are so honored to have been the ones who captured this occasion.

It's so nice to be able to "click" with the couple we meet.
On this incredibly special day we started off stopping by Daniels house, at which time we woke him out of bed (lol). He was already so excited to get this day going he didn't have a problem being wide awake. he just kept saying "I can't believe this day is here, I'm so excited!"
Fahema was absolutely glowing! You couldn't help but be excited for her. She has one of the most genuine smiles I've seen. Being able to see both sides on the morning of their big day really is a pleasure. We get to see and hear how happy each person is and why they are so connected.

When we first met Bianca & Pat we were so happy that they decided to have us capture their engagement and wedding. Not only are they stylish but the chemistry between them is amazing.

Inspired by fashion and love we headed out for their e-session and captured these awesome images. I just couldn't stop shooting, I was loving the sparks that were flying between them but when Bianca said "I'm hungry" we all definitely felt the same!

On this day we where greeted by Katie's father at the door. He was so welcoming and made us look forward to meeting everyone else. Once the girls arrived from their hair appointments they immediately got dressed and all were very excited to get the festivities on their way. After taking some amazing shots of Katie we headed to Amherstburg where she was to meet her groom. The sun was shining bright and the heat did not let out but these two were ready for the spotlight and looked incredible together. Just before the ceremony was to begin clouds started rolling in and everyone held their breath but once the I do's were said and sealed with a kiss the sun joined in the final hours of the day light.
Thanks guys for having us be a part of your day. We met some great people and truly enjoyed sharing every moment of it with you!

We met up with these two at the harrow fair, one of the oldest fair's in Canada. This was an extra special time in their lives as it was the day they first met at this exact fair. After some good laughs we picked up the famous "Tory" from home and headed to the beach. Tory was a gift to Matt from Amy and you could just tell how much she meant to both of them, and vice versa. Barely being able to sit back and listen to her whimper while the two took a stroll along the beach we added her to the mix and she was more then willing to get wet!
There is nothing like a beautiful sunset on the lake and a loving couple to add some extra sweetness to the mix.

Stacey and Marc are just another couple that we've been fortunate enough to meet. We met them back at Magdalena & Mike's amazing wedding. Roseann & Wojtek are a truly genuine couple. We first met them back at Jennifer & Zachery's wedding. It was great to see them again and spend some time on this cloudy afternoon. They met playing soccer in school and now they're both well put together and all grown up and out of school but once that soccer ball was added the memories came flying back! Even the red wall we picked represented the color of their school (love when things come together like that). Lots of laughter, lots of fun!

I have to tell you how the first date went for these two! They met in high school at the age of 16 and Pete was determined to show her the best! He decided to take her to one of the best steak restaurants in the city (what 16 year old boy takes his date to a steak restaurant right?). So he picked her up and off they went. Once the dinner was over Pete excused himself and immediately called his friend and now best man at his wedding. The first thing he told him was I think I'm in love, I'm gonna marry this girl. His friend asks "why" Pete: "she finished the entire steak!" Such a cute story and even better to have the people in your life who have seen your relationship through the years standing right next to you.

We had photographed Pete & Kristina's engagement last year where Pete shared his love for plane's and the story of how he proposed to Kristina flying over the city. It was amazing photographing these two, everything seemed to come so naturally and the wedding day was no different! It was almost as if the perfect light was following them all day long.

It means so much to us when couples trust us and just let loose and let us capture their moments. Every bride and groom is gleaming on the day of their wedding and no matter how awkward you may think you look in reality you look amazing! After spending the morning at both their homes we could see that these two where ready to get their day started. There are so many wonderful things I can say about Maria & Chris that I don't even know where to start. It was a particular honor to photograph this wedding, I grew up next door to Maria and her wonderful family. Since Maria, Chris and I share a lot of mutual friends, this day was incredibly special to me to be able to reunite with some great people, and share in the happiness throughout the day.

These two definitely get it. They are laid back and one of the most happiest people I know. Maria kept her focus on Chris all day and Chris made sure to make her smile without missing a beat. A perfect match!

I believe the connection with your photographer is so important, and I absolutely feel it with these two. It was such an easy going evening. With a bright sunny day + a beautiful couple we had an awesome shoot!

We headed out to Harrow to Melissa's parents property. We where at this amazing home last year to shoot Melissa's sister's wedding but never got the chance to drive around the property. It is breathtaking and so relaxing to drive through all the different areas on a Gator of course! You really appreciate all the beauty of nature.

We're looking forward to seeing the family again in September!

What a special weekend! We were honored to photograph our very good friends’ wedding. Line and I go way back, and today, she was getting married! It was great to see so many people sharing in the joy of their day. I have gotten to know Dave better this past little while and feel very fortunate. We've had many good times together and as Line was sharing her excitement with us as we got closer to the date, she would usually include the words “I love this Man!!” (Referring to Dave of course). Well, she made an absolutely STUNNING bride! And Dave, well I’ve never seen him looking so dapper. Ferah and I are so happy we got to photograph this spectacular day.

95% thunderstorms. That’s what the weather forecast called for. Although we where constantly watching the skies for some more of that spring rain we've had, we made it to the reception just in time. Our beautiful friends enjoyed a special day surrounded by close family & friends.

All the pieces came together perfectly. This is where it all begins….

What's better than wine, music and the person you love playing you a song? This gypsy king and queen sure knew how to steal the moment! I love it when my couples are up for something different and get inspired by the things around them. These two where no exception! Johanne & Steve are definitely unique people who were open to any ideas that I had. The chemistry between these two is amazing. I could've photographed them all day! All I had to do is sit back and watch them enjoy the moment. Once we changed the scene I was able to capture a little more wild images while Joanne channeled her inner Sandra D. from Grease and Steve his inner Tom Cruise.

This turned out to be a two day session. A few days before the rooftop I was power-shooting before the thunderstorm hit, we made it a quarter of the way before the skies turned black and we got rained on, but I was really happy with what we captured!

There is such a connection between these two, and we had so much fun capturing that. I usually have no idea what the location look's like till I get their.. its a creative challenge that's for sure. I’d rather not know and just let the day take us. When Tiffany said we can have access to a building rooftop I immediately thought of a perfect romantic setting with a gorgeous sunset over the city as a backdrop. It worked out perfectly! I rarely like to shoot at the same location twice, and having exclusive access to this location made my day!

I absolutely love it when my couples trust me, Tiffany & Eugene were no exception.

The Secret Proposal

Weddings are a series of fantastic moments, some expected, some unexpected – and they all come together to tell the story of the day. Proposals on the other hand have a little extra spark – the evening filled with romance and anticipation, the question always lingering in the air “could it be happening tonight?”
Well it was in the air on this night.
Jono contacted us about a month ago and told us how he'd like to include us in his secret proposal to his girlfriend. While Tanya thought we where photographing a romantic couples lifestyle session we all knew what was in store. It was truly an honour to be included in such a beautiful and private moment. The emotions captured from these two are priceless. We couldn't have asked for anything better.

Most of you who have met us will know that we love hearing about your relationship. We enjoy hearing who you are as a couple, what makes your days go by and where you "picture" yourself. Nothing is ever out of the ordinary so when we heard that Kelly and Warren love their Jeep, Warren plays guitar, our ideas kept flowing.

This day was one of the few nice days we get around here in April. So while enjoying some laughs, listening to Warren play his guitar and having some Coronas, we photographed this easy going couple with a backdrop that set the scene perfectly. This actually wasn't the first time we heard Warren play his guitar, the first time we heard Warren was at Kathilee and Neil's wedding where he played during their first dance. Very romantic!

This past Winter we spent some time with Nicole and Mike during their engagement session. They had just gotten a puppy and where eager to share the day with him. When we saw how these two where together we knew their wedding would be amazing and we were right. They could be off doing their own thing but as soon as they came together their eyes locked and they were all smiles.
We always feel so blessed to be around such easy going couples and it makes the day a breeze. Although it was a cold day everyone was a trooper and there was always someone their to make you laugh. I think Nicole and Mike managed to look warm and cozy on a cold day....perhaps it was love!

This was our first 100% Portuguese wedding and boy gotta love the Portuguese, amazing and friendly company and the food...wow!

We first met Sumar and Davide at Melissa & Dan's wedding, who we photographed last summer. They are all about closeness, family and friends where the highlight of their day. These two make an amazing couple with great class. They are so easy going and always where on the same page throughout the entire day. They are definitely in sync and I can bet that they will always be that way!

We stayed at the Art Gallery of Windsor, where the ceremony took place and after a stroll in Downtown Windsor headed to Mazaar (one of our favourite restaurants!) for the reception.

I am very happy to have worked along side Nancy Campana of Nouveau Event Planning, shooting the new marketing material for the Wedding Extravaganza 2011 being held at Caboto Club on January 15-16 .
